Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 27 June 2026
1. About these Terms
These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of the Luma Journey app and service (“Luma”, “we”, “us”, “our”), operated by the holder of ABN 74 330 826 281, based in New South Wales, Australia. By creating an account or using Luma, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use Luma.
You can contact us at hello@lumajourney.com.
2. What Luma is — and what it is not
Luma is a free information and organisational tool for people preparing for or undertaking an Australian Working Holiday (subclass 417) or Work and Holiday (subclass 462) visa. Luma helps you understand the general process, organise tasks, and keep your own records.
Important — please read carefully:
- Luma is not a registered migration agent and does not provide immigration assistance, migration advice, or legal advice. We are not registered with the Office of the Migration Agents Registration Authority (MARA) and nothing in Luma constitutes “immigration assistance” as defined under the Migration Act 1958 (Cth).
- Luma is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the Australian Government, the Department of Home Affairs, or any government authority.
- The information in Luma is general information only. It does not take into account your personal circumstances and may not reflect the most current rules, figures, or processes.
- Your ImmiAccount and the Department of Home Affairs are the only authorities on your visa. Always verify any requirement, figure, date, or process against the official Department of Home Affairs sources before relying on it.
- For advice about your specific situation, you should consult a registered migration agent or an Australian legal practitioner. We recommend doing so for any complex or high-stakes matter.
- Luma does not predict, guarantee, or influence the outcome of any visa application, and does not recommend any particular visa pathway as the “right” one for you.
3. The specified-work tracker
Luma includes an optional tool to help you record days of work you believe may count toward a second or third visa. This is your personal record only. It is not a submission to, or record recognised by, the Department of Home Affairs. The Department decides which days count, based on the evidence you provide when you apply. Luma does not verify, validate, or guarantee that any day, employer, location, or type of work qualifies. You are responsible for checking your work against the official requirements and keeping your own evidence.
4. Your account
- You must be at least 18 years old to use Luma.
- You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for activity under your account.
- You agree to provide accurate information and to keep it up to date.
- You may delete your account at any time from Account settings.
5. Affiliate links and third parties
Luma is free and may be supported by partnerships. Some links may be affiliate links, and we may earn a commission if you use them, at no extra cost to you. We do not control third-party websites or services, and we are not responsible for their content, products, or practices. Any dealings with third parties are between you and them, subject to their own terms and policies.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse Luma, including not to: attempt to disrupt or compromise the service or its security; access data that is not yours; use the service unlawfully; or copy, scrape, or redistribute Luma’s content for commercial purposes without permission.
7. Intellectual property
The Luma name, brand, design, and original content are owned by the operator. You may use Luma for your own personal, non-commercial purpose. Official source material we link to belongs to its respective owners (for example, the Australian Government).
8. Content and translations
We work to keep Luma’s content accurate, clear, and aligned with official guidance, but we do not warrant that it is complete, current, or error-free. Some content may be machine-translated (for example, into Spanish); translations are provided for convenience, and the English version prevails if there is any inconsistency.
9. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- Luma is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind beyond those that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.
- We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your reliance on the general information in Luma, from any inaccuracy or omission, from any decision you make about your visa, or from your use of (or inability to use) the service.
- Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any consumer guarantee, right, or remedy under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded. Where our liability cannot be excluded but can be limited, our liability is limited to re-supplying the service (which, as a free service, means restoring your access).
10. Changes and termination
We may update these Terms from time to time; the updated version will be posted in the app with a revised “Last updated” date. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the service (or your access to it) where reasonably necessary, including for misuse.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia, and you submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of that state.
